The Case for White

Maybe because it is spring and the world outside my door is in a constant state of renewal, or maybe because of all this bright sunlight streaming in through my open windows, but I am having a serious hankering to lighten up inside. I would love to slipcover my sofas in crisp white, paint my hardwood floors a creamy linen, and lighten up all my dark furniture with a fresh coat of light gray paint.  I found this home on 1st-option and immediately fell in love. (p.s. don't follow that link unless you have a whole day to kill. Seriously, that is eight hours I will never get back. That website might be where my productivity meets it's demise.)

I am posting this over at The Inspired Room. Head on over there for more inspiring spaces.

Gprgeous photos, I really love all the white! - I am trying to persuade my partner it would be a good idea in our home, but he really isn't so keen! (He would have to be more careful with his muddy boots!) ;-)

Nice looking, but way too much white for me :). I recently wrote about why I don't like slipcovers and found a few others out there that agree with me, but mostly people really embrace the idea. I certainly like the idea and the crisp freshness of those beautiful white slipcovers - I just don't think I'd like the reality of every dirty fingerprint and wrinkle showing....just sayin'.

That house is amazing! And, if someone tells me not to do something, they're just tempting me to do it. So, I followed the link, and then had to hurry out of it, b/c I can see what you're saying, and I would really like to get a shower in today while the little one is napping. Thanks for sharing!

Crazy about these pix...I'm sooooo not a minimalist though....It could maybe begin like this, but in no time I'd have it FULL. :-)

Warm blessings,
Spencer

PS....I did peek at the website, but quickly looked away. I knew it spelled T.R.O.U.B.L.E.

I like most of the all white look but I would do the floors in a light birch wood and add more art to the walls. In pale soft colors. but that is just me

Love, love, love this house! I also find myself unable to pick a favorite, although that beautiful quilt and the mirror in the Living Room stand out for me!

I think I see more white in my future . . .

This post was great.
This has been on my mind for days-
after all my blog's name is White Spray Paint.

Changing to more white than I already have would involve painting walls-
mine are currently Banana Cream.

What to do...

I enjoyed visiting and am now a follower.

Come by-
I'm having a giveaway.
