I'm not sure if it was the shiny garish gold, or the shiny garish gold set against faded 60 year old teal paint, but this chandelier was the first item in the house to make it onto my 'chuck it' list. After a year and a half of tolerating it's brassy vegas-esque presence, I just couldn't stand it hanging in our cottage one more minute.
So shiny garish gold chandelier was introduced to my new friend, oil-rubbed bronze spray paint.
Much better.

What a transformation!! I love the chandy with the ORB paint.
Without spray paint and craft paint, I couldn't do half the stuff I do! Love it! It looks FAB!
I used to be so afraid of spray paint, but now love it. Isn't ORB paint the best...perfect color. Great transformation!
hot damn! i love it!
WOWZA...that looks awesome...and very expensive. Spray paint is our friend!!! Love it!
That is the cutest little chandelier I have ever seen!
I like to think I can see the potential in things, but I was not seeing that!
How was it taking all the crystals off and on?
Thanks everyone for your nice comments! Londen, it was a bit of process, but it was worth it because then I could wash them really well. And boy did they need to be washed!
LOVE IT! I have spray painted more light fixtures and ceiling fans than I'd like to admit. It's a lot of work - great job!
You have to be joking me! That came out of just painting??? WOW! Great job!
OH.MY.Gosh. I was looking for an entirely different picture-- and then I saw your chandelier, an I was like "Who stole my picture??" I seriously thought it was my chandelier on my ceiling, lol! We have the same, old, (brassy but yours is not anymore) chandelier. Ceiling looks the same, the wall color, the ceiling medallion, lol.
